To remove a scheduled task
- Open Task Scheduler.
- Right-click the task that you want to remove, and then click Delete.

- To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators, Backup Operators, or Server Operators group, or have been the appropriate authority, on the local computer. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.

- You can also remove a scheduled task by selecting a task in the details pane, and then clicking Delete on the File menu.
- Removing a scheduled task removes only the .job file from the schedule. The program file the task runs is not removed from the hard disk.
